How To Make Money From Wal Mart By Don Alm

My Wal-Mart allows RV's to park at the extreme end of their large lot...for freebies. My local Rotary Club sells Christmas Trees there every year...for freebies.

I spoke to the Manager in January about the possibility of having a "By Owner Car Lot" in this area. It would be available ONLY on Sat & Sun. I would be charging people to park their vehicles there so I felt I should pay Wal-Mart for the space.

The guy floored me when he said my program would probably bring in more people to his store. (Car Buyers could shop for a car THEN...shop in his store) So...he thought $250 a weekend would be acceptable. He thought his insurance would cover MY "Car Lot".

I told him I would put Markers around the area where the "for sale cars" would be parked AND I would have a 8ft by 8ft sign on the back of the space so people would know what was going on.

I would run some ads for the first 2 or 3 wks and, after that I think the word-of-mouth would keep the place filled.

I plan on charging $25 a day or $40 for both days.

Everything is about ready to go except for one thing; I have too much going on already and do not want to spend my weekends "working". My family comes FIRST and we enjoy our "vacation weekends"...so...I've been hunting for someone to run this thing.

Heck...the space can fit 60 cars. 60 x $40 = $2400 I'd be willing to split the take with someone and yet have not found someone who wants to do this or who I feel has the ability to manage it.

All they'd have to do is take the money, have the car owners sign a Waiver and put them in a space...and "watch over" the place. The cars would stay there overnight so I'm REALLY looking for a retired couple who have a RV or camper.

In fact...seeing the RV's on the lot gave me the idea for the Car Lot.

The present RV owners don't want to be tied down to my town...so I'm on a hunt.
